About

I'm Ralph Switzer. I do this myself.

One IT professional in Markham with a day job keeping fleets of systems running, and a second job making small businesses findable by AI — and building AI that runs inside their offices.

What I actually run every day

The private AI I sell is the private AI I use. On my own hardware: a language model with over a hundred billion parameters, quantized to fit real machines, thinking through problems locally — plus a search system over thousands of documents that answers from the files themselves, with sources. No cloud AI subscription in the loop, because I got tired of paying rent on intelligence. Everything I offer clients is a smaller, tidier version of what's on my own desk.

Why one person beats an agency

Agencies sell hours, committees, and vocabulary. A “digital transformation strategy” for a dental clinic is a way to bill for a thing that shouldn't need one. Small businesses need three concrete things: to be found when customers ask an assistant, to not leak data, and to have someone competent answer the phone about it. That's what I do, at prices a plumber or a two-lawyer office can actually pay.

You get: my name on the report, one person who did the work (me), deliverables written in language you can read on a Tuesday evening, and a straight “you don't need this” when you don't need this.

Local, on purpose

Based in Markham. I serve Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, North York, and the GTA — and I show up in person when the job involves putting a machine on a desk. The whole point of this business is that your data and your AI live with you, not in someone else's data centre. My corner of the market is York Region businesses who want exactly that and don't want to drive to Toronto for it.

How I think about your data

Your documents are yours. I don't train models on client files, I don't send client data to third-party AI services without written consent naming the service, and the scans I run are external-only and consent-first. If a job ever needs cloud tools, you'll know which ones, where the data went, and you'll have said yes in writing first.
